QuickDASH
(Short Form of the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand Questionnaire)
Focus:
The QuickDASH is a shortened version of the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) questionnaire. It focuses on evaluating how upper limb disorders impact physical function and symptoms, while minimizing patient burden. Designed for quicker assessments, it is ideal for busy clinical settings, ongoing monitoring, and situations where a full DASH survey may not be feasible.
The OSS is a validated and widely adopted patient-reported outcome measure (PROM) used to quantify pain and function in patients with shoulder disorders. It offers a standardized method for monitoring treatment outcomes, measuring recovery, and guiding clinical decisions in both surgical and non-surgical care plans
Relevant Survey:
- Body Part: Upper Extremity (Arm, Shoulder, and Hand)
- Area Of Focus: Upper Limb Pain and Functional Impairment, Orthopedic and Neuromuscular Conditions, Post-Surgical Recovery
QuickDASH is used in orthopedic, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and therapy settings to efficiently assess how upper extremity issues interfere with daily life. It supports rapid assessments while still delivering data-driven insights for clinical decision-making.
Description:
The QuickDASH is a focused and efficient PROM designed to measure physical function and symptoms in individuals with upper limb conditions. It includes 11 key items derived from the full DASH questionnaire, offering a time-saving alternative without compromising reliability. Like the DASH, it provides optional modules to evaluate work- and sports-related activity limitations. It is widely used in routine practice for pre- and post-treatment assessment, functional tracking, and outcome reporting.
Use Cases:
- Primary Use: Rapidly evaluates functional limitations and symptoms in upper limb disorders.
- Target Conditions: Fractures, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, rotator cuff injuries, and post-operative recovery.
- Post-Surgery Assessment: Tracks short- and long-term recovery in surgical patients with upper extremity involvement.
- Other Applicable Patients: Ideal for patients undergoing physical or occupational therapy or conservative management of arm, shoulder, or hand conditions.
Number Of Questions: 12
