The Body Image Scale (BIS) measures psychological distress and body image concerns in patients with cancer, particularly those undergoing treatments that affect physical appearance.

The BIS is a validated PROM designed for oncology patients to assess the emotional and social effects of altered body image.
Description:
The BIS was developed to evaluate body image concerns among cancer patients, especially those treated for breast cancer or other conditions that affect appearance. It covers domains such as self-consciousness, dissatisfaction, and avoidance behaviors. Higher scores indicate greater body image disturbance. The BIS is widely used in psycho-oncology research and survivorship care.
